News Letters for Market Leads

So you’ve written and polished  the most awesome story/poem/novel ever, but now what are you going to do with it?  A nice little reject slip already came from the magazine you had in mind, and you have no clue where to send it next.

Newsletters are a terrific place to find updated markets and contests for your work, and they’re free.  I’ve personally sold stories to publishers I found on both of these, my two weekly favs:

C. Hope Clark – High Hope for Free Lance Writers.  “Hope Clark writes for a living. If she wouldn’t try these opportunities, she doesn’t post them.”

Duotrope’s Digest Weekly Wire – This newsletter shows listings for paying and non-paying markets, market updates, and my favorite section for upcoming themed deadlines.

Which writing newsletters give you the hottest tips?

Hey, cool! I’d heard of Duotrope’s Digest, but the other one is new to me. Thanks so much 🙂

  2. Hey Jess,
Duotrope has a great website that lets you search for markets you’re looking for, as well. I like their newsletter because you can see all the new information on one page, complete with clickable links. 🙂
