Fudge Recipe

Fudge is a family favorite during the holidays and it’s just as tasty the rest of the year.  The recipe is for chocolate,  with an easy variation for peanut butter.

Chocolate fudge
1/2 lb butter or margarine
12oz package semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 cups nuts (pecans and black walnuts)
7 oz jar marshmallow cream
4-1/2 cups sugar
1 large can evaporated milk

Mix first four ingredients together in a bowl.  In a large pan or pasta pot, stir together sugar and evaporated milk, bring to a boil,  and boil stirring constantly for 9 minutes.  Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate mixture. Mix well and pour into a 13 by 10 inch pan.  Refrigerated until completely set, then cut into small squares. 

Peanut Butter Fudge
Substitute peanut butter chips for the chocolate ones and leave out the nuts if you want.
