Like a lotus flower
we too have the ability to rise from the mud,
bloom out of the darkness, and radiate into the world.
During times like these, when we’re stuck at home dealing with uncertainty and anxiety, it helps to keep a positive mindset. Not always the easiest thing to do with all the bad news we’re faced with right now, I know, but it’s best to chose to focus on the good. Look at all the people who are going out of their way to help others, the heroic efforts of doctors and nurses around the world, and then think about the small gestures each one of us can do to make a difference.
This too shall pass, as the saying goes. Until then, I’m going to try my damnedest to concentrate on hope and making plans for the future.
I hope all of you are safe and well.
“Hope” is the thing with feathers –
That perches in the soul –
And sings the tune without the words –
And never stops – at all….
~Emily Dickinson, c.1861
